Oggetto:

ll laboratorio si propone di:

iniziare lo studio della morfologia e della sintassi latina;
instillare la capacità di comprendere un testo latino e di tradurlo in una forma adeguata;
far tradurre brani dal latino all'italiano di livello basso con e senza l'ausilio del vocabolario;
perfezionare le capacità espressive in lingua italiana;
far apprendere il lessico di base della lingua latina di epoca classica;
iniziare la conoscenza delle strutture di base della lingua latina (declinazioni e coniugazioni);
far acquisire nozioni elementari di cultura latina.

The lab aims to:

begin the study of Latin morphology and syntax;
instill the ability to understand a Latin text and translate it into a suitable form;
have passages translated from Latin into low level Italian with and without the help of vocabulary;
improve skills in Italian;
learn the basic vocabulary of the Latin language of the classical period;
begin the knowledge of the basic structures of the Latin language (declensions and conjugations);
acquire elementary notions of Latin culture.

Per gli studenti frequentanti sono previste tre prove in itinere che consistono in una prova di traduzione dal latino di difficoltà paragonabile alle versioni svolte in classe, cui si aggiungeranno adeguati esercizi per la valutazione delle conoscenze lessicali. Le prove verranno valutate in modo pesato (20%, 30%, 50% al fine della costituzione del voto finale; in caso di assenza a una o a due delle prime prove itinere il voto verrà ricalcolato (40% e 60% in caso di assenza alla prima prova, 25% e 75% in caso di assenza alle seconda prova). Non è consentita l'assenza alla terza prova, che è su tutto il programma; i voti delle prime due prove saranno calcolati eccetto che nel caso di violazioni del Codice Etico (plagi da Internet, ecc.).

Durante le prove di esame e in sede di valutazione, si pratica una policy rigorosa contro il plagio: le prove in itinere irregolari escludono dalla prosecuzione dell'esame per un anno. Nei casi più gravi, lo studente sarà deferito al Senato Accademico.

Le prove in itinere sono ovviamente valide solo per gli studenti che a fine anno abbiano le presenze necessarie. La prova scritta per gli studenti non frequentanti, o che non abbiano superato le prove in itinere, consiste in una versione dal latino (dimensioni indicative: 150-200 parole); declinazioni, coniugazioni, sintassi e lessico verranno verificate in sede orale. Il complesso delle prove permette di verificare con precisione le competenze raggiunte dagli studenti nei diversi ambiti della lingua ed eventualmente della letteratura latina.

For the students attending the course there will be three tests consisting of a translation test from Latin of comparable difficulty to the versions studied in class, to which will be added appropriate exercises for the evaluation of lexical knowledge. The tests will be evaluated in a weighted way (20%, 30%, 50% for the final grade; in case of absence at one or two of the first tests the grade will be recalculated (40% and 60% in case of absence at the first test, 25% and 75% in case of absence at the second test). Absence at the third test, which is on the entire program, is not allowed; the votes of the first two tests will be calculated except in the case of violations of the Code of Ethics (plagiarism from the Internet, etc.).

During the exams and during the evaluation, a strict policy against plagiarism is practised: the irregular tests exclude from the continuation of the exam for one year. In the most serious cases, the student will be referred to the Academic Senate.

The tests are obviously valid only for students who have the necessary attendance at the end of the year. The written exam for students who are not attending, or who have not passed the tests, consists of a version from Latin (approximate size: 150-200 words); declensions, conjugations, syntax and vocabulary will be checked orally. The tests allow to verify with precision the competences reached by the students in the different areas of the language and, if necessary, of the Latin literature.

c) Correzione delle prove scritte all'esame orale e verifica di conoscenza di declinazioni e coniugazioni e delle 600 parole di base del latino.

Programma per non frequentanti e per chi ha frequentato, ma non ha superato o rifiuta il voto derivante dalla media pesata delle prove in itinere:

a) Prova scritta finale, consistente in una traduzione dal latino in italiano con l'ausilio del vocabolario

b) Colloquio (solo chi abbia superato lo scritto può sostenere la prova orale), vertente su discussione della prova scritta, verifica di conoscenza di declinazioni e coniugazioni (e comunque di tutto il programma svolto di morfologia e sintassi), delle 600 parole di base del latino e di 20 versioni che saranno indicate durante il corso, di cui si richiederà traduzione e analisi morfologica e sintattica.

The laboratory provides an introduction to morphology and the study of syntax, unit 1ss. of the adopted textbook exercise (morphology, rudiments of syntax).

Program for attending students:

a) Compulsory attendance, at least 60% (44/72 hh)

b) Passing the 3 tests scheduled during the lessons.

c) Correction of the written tests at the oral examination and verification of knowledge of declensions and conjugations and of the 600 basic words of Latin.

Program for non-attending students and those who have attended, but have not passed or refuse the grade resulting from the weighted average of the three tests:

a) Final written test, consisting of a translation from Latin into Italian with the help of vocabulary

b) Oral exam (only those who have passed the written test can take the oral test), which is based on a discussion of the written test, verification of knowledge of declensions and conjugations (and in any case of the entire program of morphology and syntax), the 600 basic words of Latin and 20 small texts that will be indicated during the course, which will require translation and morphological and syntactical analysis.
