Obiettivi formativi

Programma
Rh. 1, 20)
«But now I will tell the lineage and the names of the heroes...»
Apollonius Rhodius’s Argonautica have a very ancient mythical theme as their subject and are for us the first epic poem that came in its entirety after the archaic epic. After a critical introduction to the specific exegetical problems of the epic genre from its origins, the course will be dedicated to the reading of passages of the work that can illustrate elements of continuity and discontinuity with respect to the Homeric epic on a structural, thematic, stylistic level (preface, catalog examples and typical scenes, speeches and dialogues, characterization of the protagonists and minor characters, battles and travel stages ...).
The final examen will be about the issues dealt with during the course. The list of the passages translated and analised during the course will be given at the end of the lessons and published on the website.
Students who cannot attend are asked to contact the teacher.
