Obiettivi formativi
This course will show some texts announcin the splitting of the European cutural unit. We are considering chiefly Dantes De vulgari Eloquentia, and Petrarchs Invectiva contra medicum qui maledixit Italiae, but also the texts of some translators from Latin, to consider the perception of distances between nations, and between languages of the same area.- Oggetto:
Programma
Saranno oggetto d’ esame i testi letti a lezione.
MANY CULTURES, ONE OR MORE LANGUAGES: LATIN AND VERNACULAR AT THE END OF THE MIDDLE AGES
The texts will be read and illustrated during the course, and they will be the main part of the programme of the exam.
Each student will prepare a very short essay in Italian (or other languages, in particular cases, as for Erasmus students), concerning a short text, that will be chosen with the teacher.
Each student will add a book, chosen within his fields of interest, with the advice of the teacher. The book can be in Italian or in a foreign language.
Students who cannot follow the ordinary course, can have a programme, which must be prepared with the advice of the teacher.

Note
A good knowledge of Latin is welcome., and also stimulated. Anyhow, we will find proper solutions for those who do not know Latin.
No reduction in notes, and no other form of vexation is within our plans.- Oggetto:
